MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Sim-AV is to build a cooperative learning environment to make technology arts education affordable.
Closing the Gap
Sim-AV has initiated the Closing the Gap program to address:
- The ability of simulators to close the gap between theory and practice, and
- The ability of simulators to close the gap between education available in high-resource versus low-resource universities.
The Closing the Gap initiative is working on the development of simulators and on-line tools for educational institutions that otherwise would not be able to provide their students with such resources.
Sim-AV summary
Classes can be held in computer labs where each student works with their own simulator.
Students are well prepared before they go into the studio and can use the equipment safely and efficiently.
Students can complete assignments and practice in computer labs or from their homes.
Students can at all times have access to a wider range of equipment than any department can house.
